Smith’s Resin Sand is an angular micronized polymeric material which can be added to any film forming coating to achieve a slip resistant film. Due to its composition, Smith’s Resin Sand will not absorb, expand or dissolve in oil, solvent or water-based systems.
Due to specific gravity, Smith’s Resin Sand requires agitation to remain evenly suspended in low viscosity coatings. Yields a texture to improve traction in a new coating.
Mock-ups are important to determine the appropriate amount necessary as well as to ensure satisfaction and desired appearance.
Smith’s Resin Sand is available in 60 grit (single component sealers) and 40 grit (2-component sealers or topcoats).
RECOMMENDED USE: An additive for coatings to create a slip resistant film. Primary used for decorative concrete and masonry sealers as well as a traction additive in topcoats over resinous floor coatings used in residential to commercial environments.
